One workspace, two inventory models

Count the supplies.
Track each device.

A box of cassettes and a calibrated camera should not be managed the same way. Consumables gives each one the fields and availability rules it needs.

Quantity-based supplies

Know what is on hand, reserved, and actually available.

Set units, reorder thresholds, suggested reorder quantities, vendors, SKUs, costs, categories, and storage locations for the supplies your team uses.

Individually tracked equipment

Give every physical device its own record.

Track make, model, serial number, operational status, current assignment, and calibration history for each piece of field equipment.

Assignments & field handoffs

Reserve first. Record what was actually used.

A reservation reduces what is available without changing the physical stock count. When the assignment is complete, confirm the quantity used and release anything that came back unused.

Availability safeguards

Know what’s available before you assign it.

Consumables checks active reservations for supplies and active assignments plus calibration status for equipment before another assignment is created.

01

Reservations count immediately

Available supply is the on-hand quantity minus every active reservation, even before the physical stock is used.

02

One device, one active assignment

Individually tracked equipment cannot be promised to two people at the same time.

03

Calibration stays in the decision

Overdue equipment is unavailable unless an authorized manager records an override and the reason.

Stock & calibration alerts

Get notified when stock or calibration needs attention.

Managers can be notified when available stock crosses its reorder threshold, reaches zero, or when equipment enters its calibration warning window or becomes overdue.

Inventory history

Every stock change leaves a record.

Restocks, usage, waste, returns, corrections, and reversals are recorded as movements with the resulting balance. When applicable, the record stays connected to the assignment, inspection, service, and person responsible.
